You will need:

  • Spinning wheel (here: Minstrel)
  • Jumbo Flyer / Great Flyer – We used the Minstrel Great Flyer, it’s ideal for art yarn. Its large orifice and generous capacity provide a smooth, effortless workflow and endless creative possibilities, easily accommodating even the wildest art yarns. You can also opt for a standard Jumbo Flyer.
  • Leading Thread – It should be sturdy enough to withstand the tension, yet it can remain lightweight and thin.
  • Thicker yarn in the colors of your choice – This will form a more distinct and noticeable layer in your art yarn.
  • Niddy Noddy

Instructions:

  1. Ply the Yarns:

Follow the video tutorial to ply the yarns, and remember to turn your wheel to the left during the plying process.

2. Finish the Yarn:

  • Wind your art yarn onto the Niddy Noddy.
  • Secure the yarn with ties in 3–4 places.
  • Remove the art yarn from the Niddy Noddy, wash it gently in warm water, and leave it to dry.
