The Prelude Spinning Wheel
At the opposite end of the size spectrum from the Symphony in our Saxony wheel lineup is the Prelude. While maintaining the same exceptional Kromski craftsmanship as its larger counterparts, the Prelude offers the unique advantage of compact portability. Designed for those who appreciate the classic antique Saxony style but need the convenience of a smaller, transportable wheel, it is perfect for events such as historical festivals and reenactments.

Description
With an 18” wheel diameter, the Prelude is designed to operate at a variety of speeds and ratios. As the first single-drive-only wheel produced by Kromski, it features Scotch Tension and a single treadle. Its oblique bench is seamlessly connected to a built-in lazy kate with a two-bobbin capacity.
Affordably priced and easy to assemble, the Prelude is an excellent choice for beginners while still offering the quality and functionality needed for a lifetime of spinning.
Jumbo Flyer kits enhance a spinner’s capabilities in two key ways. First, the larger orifice on the jumbo flyer allows for spinning a wide range of yarns, from delicate lace-weight to super bulky art yarn. Additionally, the jumbo bobbin holds twice the capacity of a standard Kromski bobbin. A regular Kromski bobbin already provides 50% more space than most industry-standard bobbins, with a generous 4.2-ounce capacity. The jumbo bobbin doubles that, enabling longer, uninterrupted spinning sessions and skeins with greater yardage—all without the need for frequent bobbin changes!
